Our privacy policy and use of cookies

This Privacy and Cookies Policy has been created to demonstrate our commitment to protecting both your business information and your customers’ personal information, and describes how we collect, store and use such personal information. It does not apply to any other site outside of contact with Regcheq, or any other organization, and consumers.

Please review this Privacy and Cookies Policy periodically as we may amend it from time to time. Each time you visit the site or provide us with information, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy and Cookies Policy.

Jurisdiction

Regcheq works in compliance with all the jurisdictions in which it operates.

Regcheq is a company incorporated under Chilean law. We are currently regulated by Law No. 19,628 of 1999 on the Protection of Private Life. Without prejudice to this, we have voluntarily raised the standard of protection and treatment of the data we process to try to assimilate said criteria to the data protection laws in the EU and the United Kingdom, which stipulate that personal data must be treated and processed legally and fairly, being used only for the intended purpose, applying adequate, relevant and not excessive, accurate and up-to-date treatment, which is not kept longer than necessary, is processed in accordance with the rights of the person, is kept securely, and is not transferred to other countries without adequate protection.

Where the above or other laws and regulations require us to observe more stringent privacy restrictions than those specifically set out in this Privacy and Cookies Policy, we will tailor our activities in accordance with your requirements and, if the privacy restrictions conflict in any way With these provisions, we will abide by the strictest criteria of applicable laws, rules and regulations.

In order to provide our service to you, we may store, process and transmit information in locations around the world – including those outside of your country. Such transfer will not occur without adequate protection. Regcheq will only process (including storage) personal information in accordance with the privacy laws applicable to Chile, Mexico, Brazil Peru, Colombia, Europe and the United Kingdom. We do not currently participate in or cooperate with any kind of general surveillance or monitoring. However, we may disclose personally identifiable information when we determine that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and systemic measures against unauthorized activities or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data. However, you must agree that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and Regcheq cannot guarantee that information submitted to, maintained by, or transmitted from its systems will be completely secure. Regcheq is not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the site by any user or third party.

Your information

In order to operate the Services and the Site, we collect “personal information” that is, information that could be used to contact personal data holders directly (without using the Site) such as full name, postal address, telephone number or Email address. We collect the personal information we need to be able to perform background checks on individuals, and we only collect and use the information we actually need.

The personal information we collect that is reviewed by Regcheq depends on what type of background check is selected.

We may also collect “demographic information” (meaning, information that you submit, or that we collect, including, but not limited to, zip code, gender, username, age/date of birth, registration history information).

Nowhere on the website do we knowingly collect personal data or information from children under the age of 18.

Special cases in which we share personal information

We will only share information with other organizations when we have your authorization or the express consent of your customers, to do so in accordance with this Privacy and Cookies Policy or where we believe it is necessary for a legitimate reason, related to the site or our services.

We may disclose personal information when we determine that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, to cooperate with law enforcement, or to protect the interests or safety of the Company or other organizations using the site. Whenever personal information is disclosed under this paragraph, we may also disclose your demographic information along with it, on a non-anonymous basis.

We do not sell any personal information to third parties. The data we collect and make available to you is presented only in aggregate form. All pages containing information are protected by SSL.

How We Use Public Information and Other Demographic Information

Your IP address

Due to Internet communication standards, we automatically receive the Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) of the website you came from and the website you go to once you leave the website. We also receive the IP address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer’s operating system and the type of web browser you use, as well as the name of your Internet service provider. (“ISP”). This information is used to analyze general trends and help us improve the Site.

Cookies

Like most Sites, the Site uses cookies to track your activity on the Site and improve your experience. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. We also use cookies to save your login email, and if you wish, to save other personal information so you don’t have to re-enter it each time you visit the site.
